Read & Chillz Book Festival (RACH Fest) is a literary and creative arts festival created to celebrate World Book Day while reigniting the love for reading and storytelling across Africa.

It brings together authors, writers, poets, book clubs, publishers, creatives, students, and book lovers for a vibrant experience where literature meets culture and community impact.

Why RACH Fest Matters

Across many African communities, especially low-income and rural areas, access to books and learning resources remains limited. RACH Fest exists to bridge the gap between book lovers, underserved students, and educational opportunities, while celebrating African writers and stories.

Objectives

  • Promote a strong reading culture among young people in Africa.
  • Bridge the gap between book lovers, illiteracy, and students in low-income communities with limited access to learning resources.
  • Celebrate African writers, poets, and creatives for their contributions to society.
  • Inspire aspiring writers by exposing them to the writing, publishing, and creative process.
  • Connect authors, readers, publishers, and creatives across Africa.
  • Create measurable community impact through book donations to underserved schools.

1. Skill-Building Workshops

  • Writing techniques & storytelling
  • Publishing and self-publishing in Africa

  • ISBN registration and book distribution

6. The Kiddies Section

A dedicated corner for children's storybooks, reading activities, and educational materials, plus a mini market for kiddies items.

Community Impact

Beyond entertainment and education, RACH Fest is deeply rooted in social impact.

Through partnerships with brands, NGOs, book clubs, libraries, publishers, and authors, the festival will:

  • Collect and donate books to underserved communities
  • Distribute books to up to 30 rural and low-income schools in areas such as Makoko, Agege, and Ajegunle
  • Provide students with free access to books, knowledge, and inspiration
  • Support literacy development at the grassroots level
